BK newbie quickie

I’m a seasoned SubVersioN user. There are two things that I like about SVN: [1]mature/reliable and [2]handles huge files 2GB+++. I typically use it to revision virtual machines 10s/100s GBs - something I can’t do w/ GIT for example. Unfortunately SVN is not a distributed SCM tool (SVK appears to be discontinuted).

  1. Can BK handle huge files? I.E. what is BK’s file size limitation(s)?
  2. From version to version, does BK handle differences in binary files |OR| does it store whole files (SVN is smart that way in that it versions differences in binary files - not the whole file).

Appreciate all responses.

Hi, my understanding is:

  1. Can BK handle huge files? I.E. what is BK’s file size limitation(s)?

no file size limitation

  1. From version to version, does BK handle differences in binary files |OR| does it store whole files […].

stores whole files

The binary file handling feature is called BAM, for Binary Asset Management and is described in this help page.
